Jodi's Italian Ice Factory
About This Spot
Stepping into Jodi's Italian Ice Factory feels like sliding into a well-loved neighborhood gathering spot where the hum of conversation blends effortlessly with the sizzle from the kitchen. It’s the kind of place where the pace is unhurried, creating room for lingering over the layers of flavor and friendly moments that make each visit special.
The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming, grounded in the joy of good, honest food made with care. Whether you’re settling in for a hearty cheesesteak stacked with tender steak or chicken and melted cheese mingling with sweet peppers and grilled onions, or savoring a refreshing scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream or vibrant cherry Italian ice, the flavors echo a shared affection for classic, comforting dishes with a twist. It’s the kind of spot where conversations naturally flow as plates come alive with familiar favorites and small surprises — think crispy cheesesteak egg rolls or a perfectly balanced hoagie.
What stands out is how each bite invites you to slow down and savor both the food and the space itself. The friendly, neighborhood energy makes it a comforting pit stop whether you’re local or just passing through, with enough character and warmth to feel like a home away from home.
And while the buzz can build during busier times, there’s an easygoing rhythm that holds steady — a place where the staff's genuine care shapes the experience almost as much as the menu. It’s less about flashy trends and more about those simple joys: a well-constructed sandwich, a cooling spoonful of Italian ice, and the easy pleasure of good company around a shared table.

Maaan!! This place is a must if you’re in the area! Anytime I am down here from Detroit I have to stop and if I miss it my trip is a bust! They have cheesesteaks that’ll make the hungriest of people full, and the Italian ice are to die for! Cherry is always a winner with coconut and the vanilla ice cream taste like homemade ice cream that you churned for hours. And all this is done with a welcoming smiling face from Raquel who makes sure your experience is the absolute best!! She always makes sure my visit is perfect!

My Italian sandwich was perfect! And the root beer Italian ice was amazing! Will be back without a doubt! I started eating without taking a picture first, I couldn't help it!

Other than they need some more staff, everything was excellent. The Smash burger was delicious (I could only manage half) and the Italian hogie was packed and also delicious (so I'm told...it was also cut into half..the medium). The coconut ice is creamy! Definitely going back.

I've wanted to try this place for a long time and I finally got around to doing so. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich and it did not disappoint! The sandwich had plenty of meat on it and it was very tasty! The Italian ice was great. We ordered the cherry. Very flavorful and delicious! I will be back again!

When we lived in Whiting we used to go to the Hammond location all the time. It was awesome to see a location open further south. They brought the same excellent food and went a step further with a nicely finished out dine in section. Some of the best sandwiches in the region.

Ive tried this resturant on 3 separate occasions. The first time i tried the steak cheesesteak in which was bland in flavor and had too much cheese on it for me. The salmon/chicken eggs are what did it for me. The second time i built my own sub which was good but had to much oil( and of couse i got another egg roll). The third time i got it right lol, i got another sub no oil, egg roll and tried and Italian ice(watermelon) which was really good! I took my son the 3rd time he just got an italian ice but he loved it and said he'd definitely be back! And so will I.

First time at this location. Have been to the other locations in the past years, but only had the Italian ice, which is still on point!! We had the Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Philly Cheesesteak, French fries, all three types of egg rolls (1 of each flavor), and the Italian ice. We placed the order to go, even though they had plenty of seating (love the open area), and the food was fresh and delicious and good-sized portions. Would recommend and will be back.
